Part-Time Patient Registration Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1 RCM is recruiting a Patient Access Representative for Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin. The schedule is PRN and part time as needed, with 48+ hours per month and 24 hours on call. You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process, working across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize delays in registration and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• No healthcare background is required; training is provided
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus
