Part-Time Patient Registration Customer Service Rep (PRN)

About the role

R1, a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative for Intermountain Spanish Fork Hospital. The role is part-time and as needed (PRN), with a minimum of 48 hours per month and 24 hours on call, and additional shifts available. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Help patients navigate the registration process and answer questions with confidence and compassion
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (training provided)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
