Part-Time Patient Registration Customer Service Rep

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is looking for a part-time, PRN Customer Service Representative to work in its Spanish Fork office, helping patients check into the hospital. The role is fast-paced and involves answering questions during registration while building trust by listening with compassion. No previous healthcare experience is required; training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to take patient information in a busy environment
• Collect details across multiple screens and enter them correctly between physician and nurse check-ins
• Type quickly and work across several programs, even when clinicians interrupt for urgent care
• Listen carefully to anxious or very ill patients, ask follow-up questions and build rapport
• Assist patients with registration on their feet, handling varied health plans and coverage

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent customer service experience
• Confident multi-tasker who is a quick study with technology
• Ability to type and answer phones
• Up to date on all vaccinations, passes a drug test and a background check before hire
• Willingness to see illness and injuries in a hospital/lab setting

Required skills

• Preferred: medical experience
• Typing speed and multitasking

The base pay range is $16.00 - $21.10 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education. The position is part-time and PRN as needed/on-call.
