Part-Time Patient Registration Customer Service Rep

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is looking for a part-time, PRN Customer Service Representative to work in the Patient Registration area at Intermountain Heber Valley Hospital. You will help patients check into the hospital, answer questions during registration and build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion. No previous healthcare experience is required; training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient information in a busy environment, across multiple screens, between physician and nurse check-ins
• Type quickly and handle multiple programs, working around clinicians who interrupt for emergent care
• Help patients who may be very ill or worried, asking follow-up questions and building rapport
• Collect patient and insurance information, dealing with the variation in health plans and coverage

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent customer service experience
• Up to date on all vaccinations, passes a drug test and a background check before hire
• Comfortable seeing illness and injuries in a hospital setting

Required skills

• Ability to type and answer phones
• Quick study of technology
• Confident multi-tasker
• Preferred: medical experience

The base pay range is $16.00 - $21.10 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education. The position is part time, PRN as needed and on-call.
