Part-Time Patient Registration (Customer Service)

About the role

R1 RCM is recruiting Customer Service Representatives (PRN) to work on site at Intermountain St George Regional Hospital. The role helps patients check into the hospital and answers questions during registration in a fast-paced, busy environment. Shifts are part time and PRN as needed, with a variety of shifts available.

Key responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to take patient information in a busy setting, using multiple screens and entering data correctly between physician and nurse check-ins.
• Work across several programs and type quickly enough to keep up with patients.
• Listen empathetically to patients who may be very ill or anxious, asking follow-up questions and building rapport.
• Assist patients while standing, completing registration quickly and handling the variation in health plans and coverage through training.
• Work around clinicians interrupting the process for urgent clinical care.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• No previous healthcare experience required; training is provided.
• Must be able to see illness and injuries, as this is a hospital environment.
• Up to date on all vaccinations, including COVID-19 and the annual flu shot.
• Must pass a drug test and a background check before hire.

Required skills

• Quick study of technology and ability to type.
• Ability to answer phones and work across multiple programs.

The base pay range is $16.12 - $23.21 per hour, depending on role, level, location, skills and experience.
