Part-time Library Assistant – Appalachian Campus

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Chattahoochee Technical College is seeking a motivated Part‑time Library Assistant for its Appalachian Campus in Jasper. You will support students and faculty by delivering reference services, managing circulation, and maintaining the library environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic reference and research assistance, including bibliographic instruction.
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and process inter‑library loan requests.
• Assist with circulation duties: shelving, shelf reading, overdue notices, and hold placement.
• Support acquisition and processing of books, supplies, and equipment.
• Coordinate distribution of course materials to dual‑enrollment and dual‑achievement students.
• Maintain library displays, repair books, and manage serials.
• Handle incoming/outgoing mail and order supplies as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related work experience, preferably in a library or academic setting.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently.
