Part-Time Level II Security Guard

About the role

ASM Global is hiring a part-time, non-exempt, hourly Level II Security Guard for the Albuquerque Convention Center. The guard oversees the safety and security of the facility and its patrons, employees and assets, reporting to the Director of Security.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain 24-hour security of the building's interior and exterior and patrol the grounds on foot, ensuring only authorized personnel are present.
• Lock and unlock doors as directed, regulate the flow of employees and the public, and collect parking fees.
• Respond to calls for service and crimes in progress, call emergency services when needed, conduct preliminary investigations, document incidents and prepare reports.
• Monitor and operate computers, CCTV and fire alarm panels, run the control center, dispatch security by radio, keep a 24-hour incident log and notify the chain of command on serious matters.
• Provide general public assistance, handle lost and found items, answer inquiries and refer complaints to the right staff.
• Prepare security enforcement reports, conduct periodic fire and safety hazard inspections and recommend improvements.
• Secure the parking structure, monitor its occupancy and offer alternate parking when needed.
• Search bags, use wands and metal detectors, and perform related duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current valid New Mexico Guard Card at the appropriate level, or obtain the card within 3 months of employment.
• Ability to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Clear, concise communication in English.
• Preferred: knowledge of security and fire safety procedures, de-escalation concepts, two-way radio use, record keeping and relevant laws and regulations.
