Part-Time Conversion Crew Member

About the role

A part-time Conversion Crew member in Kansas City sets up and takes down buildings for events, such as installing and removing basketball floors, retractable seating, stages and moving furniture. It is a physically demanding, event-driven position with a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with event setups, changeovers and operational tasks, including tables, flooring, risers and portable seating, completed safely and efficiently.
• On non-event days, store equipment, furniture and tools, identify damaged items and help arrange repairs or replacements.
• Maintain equipment properly and work with in-house staff so that production needs and client requests are met.
• Keep the work area safe and clean and support coworkers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of event changeovers and setups.
• Able to read, communicate and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines safely.
• Professional interaction with coworkers and the public.
• Regular lifting, pushing and pulling of objects up to 50 lbs, kneeling, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and reaching above head.
• Reliable attendance and availability for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Assembly operations equipment: forklifts, pallet jacks, staging equipment, trussing, hand tools and power tools.
• Preferred: forklift certification and knowledge of staging and production equipment.
