Part-Time Clinical Laboratory Assistant (UHealth Labs Transition)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pathology is seeking a part‑time Clinical Laboratory Assistant 1 to support routine laboratory operations and research activities. The role involves handling patient specimens, processing samples, and maintaining accurate laboratory records.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, accession, and transport patient samples for testing.
• Perform specimen processing tasks such as centrifugation, aliquoting, and volume measurement.
• Maintain laboratory files, logs, and inventory levels in accordance with protocols.
• Support performance‑improvement initiatives and keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or certifications considered.
• Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following safety guidelines.
