Part-Time Cashier

About the role

Meijer is hiring a part-time Cashier in Aurora. As the last touchpoint a customer has before leaving the store, the Cashier provides efficient, effective customer service in the checkout lane. Weekend availability is required, and flexibility for primarily afternoon and evening shifts is sought.

Key responsibilities

• Become knowledgeable about Meijer programs and promotions to assist customers
• Create welcoming, memorable checkout experiences
• Use Meijer systems to complete transactions efficiently and accurately
• Handle cash and payments responsibly, with attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and confidently, using friendly eye contact and positive body language
• Answer customer questions and help resolve concerns
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly

Required profile

• 18 years of age or older
• Weekend availability; flexible availability, primarily afternoon and evenings
• Enjoys working with people and providing great service
• Comfortable learning and using technology
• Dependable, detail-oriented and able to lift, bend, twist and stand for extended periods
• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required
