Paramedic - Emergency Department

About the role

The Paramedic provides emergency treatment and advanced life support to patients in the Emergency Department of the Twinsburg Family Health Center. This PRN position works rotating evening and night shifts under RN supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assess urgent medical needs, obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and suctioning.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, saline locks, and notify RN/physician of rhythm changes.
• Apply orthopaedic appliances, splints, size crutches and teach walking.
• Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, lumbar puncture, restraints, and patient transport.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program.
• Current Ohio EMTP licensure and BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
• Clinical experience through EMS Paramedic training; preferred ITLS certification and one year EMT‑P experience.

Required skills

• Advanced cardiac life support procedures (EKG, CPR, cardiac monitoring).
• Phlebotomy, suctioning, and fluid/drug administration.
• Application of orthopaedic devices, splints, and crutches.
• Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to infection control protocols.
