About the role
The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) of the FBI is seeking an experienced Paralegal Specialist to support the Legal Forfeiture Unit. The role involves providing legal analysis, research, and drafting support for the FBI’s asset forfeiture program, which targets criminal enterprises and recovers assets for victims.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct case file reviews, legal research, and analysis under attorney direction.
- Identify legal issues and potential risks in forfeiture proceedings.
- Gather, collect, and evaluate factual information to meet legal and policy requirements.
- Draft clear, concise legal documents and memoranda.
- Assist attorneys in developing legal strategy and decision‑making.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret‑SCI clearance.
- Paralegal experience in asset forfeiture, criminal law, or a similarly demanding legal environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and writing abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently within a federal setting.
Required skills
What we offer
- GS‑13 salary range $121,785 – $158,322 per year.
- Full‑time, permanent position with flexible working hours (8:00 am‑4:30 pm).
