About the role
The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Pain Management Clinical Pharmacist to collaborate with healthcare providers, optimize medication therapy, and support research initiatives across all care settings.
Key responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other providers to optimize patient care and advise on drug safety, dosing, and side effects.
- Promote improvement in drug usage, dosage, and supervise therapeutic procedures for optimal outcomes.
- Coordinate pharmacy duties, including preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of dispensed drugs and ensure proper documentation.
- Observe and treat patients in various healthcare settings while conducting research to advance pharmaceutical care.
- Individualize medication regimens considering pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic variations.
- Conduct medication histories, assess compliance, and suggest modifications to achieve desired outcomes.
- Suggest improvements in work methods and adhere to university and unit policies.
Required profile
- Pharm.D. degree.
- Certification in a relevant specialty or field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical pharmacy experience.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
