Pain Management Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Pain Management Clinical Pharmacist to collaborate with healthcare providers, optimize medication therapy, and support research initiatives across all care settings.

Key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with physicians and other providers to optimize patient care and advise on drug safety, dosing, and side effects.
• Promote improvement in drug usage, dosage, and supervise therapeutic procedures for optimal outcomes.
• Coordinate pharmacy duties, including preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of dispensed drugs and ensure proper documentation.
• Observe and treat patients in various healthcare settings while conducting research to advance pharmaceutical care.
• Individualize medication regimens considering pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic variations.
• Conduct medication histories, assess compliance, and suggest modifications to achieve desired outcomes.
• Suggest improvements in work methods and adhere to university and unit policies.

Required profile

• Pharm.D. degree.
• Certification in a relevant specialty or field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical pharmacy experience.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
