About the role

The Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides and supervises direct patient care within the VA outpatient setting. The role focuses on coordinating care, delivering patient education, promoting self‑management, and ensuring high customer satisfaction throughout the care continuum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care for outpatients.
• Coordinate patient care plans with an emphasis on education and self‑management.
• Maintain patient satisfaction by addressing concerns and ensuring continuity of care.
• Document nursing interventions and outcomes in accordance with VA policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Eligibility for VA employment under the 38 U.S.C. 7403(f) language requirement.
• For foreign‑educated nurses, a validated degree equivalency accepted by the VA.
• Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) candidates may be appointed temporarily while pursuing licensure.
