About the role
The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Optometrist 2 to join its Miami team, providing comprehensive eye examinations, prescribing corrective lenses, and managing ocular disease treatment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct ocular examinations to diagnose eye and vision problems, including conditions linked to systemic diseases.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and appropriate medications for eye disorders.
- Provide vision therapy, low‑vision rehabilitation, and pre‑/post‑operative care.
- Analyze test results, develop treatment plans, and administer diagnostic drugs.
- Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and collaborate with clinical staff.
Required profile
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
- Active Florida Optometrist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum five years of relevant clinical experience.
