Ophthalmic Imager (OI2) – Full-time

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Ophthalmic Imager (OI2) to join its clinical team in Plantation, FL. The role involves performing a range of ocular diagnostic tests and imaging procedures while ensuring high‑quality patient care and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging including color fundus photography, fluorescein and ICG angiography, OCT, automated perimetry, slit‑lamp and external photography, and ocular motility photography.
• Document procedures and upload images to the EMR/PACS system.
• Calibrate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
• Provide patient‑centric care, adhere to infection‑control standards, and maintain confidentiality.
• Travel to satellite eye centers and work evenings or weekends as needed.
• Assist in training residents, fellows, visiting technicians, and faculty on imaging protocols and software.
• Participate in clinical research and support imaging presentations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current OPS certification or ability to obtain it.
• Experience in ophthalmic imaging preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing education and compliance with university policies.
