Ophthalmic Echographer 1 – Full Time in Palm Beach Gardens

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Ophthalmic Echographer 1 to perform ocular diagnostic examinations and support patient‑centric eye care in Palm Beach Gardens.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ocular diagnostic examinations using ultrasound echography instrumentation and document procedures in the EMR/PACS system.
• Conduct A‑scan biometry, IOL Master measurements, contact/immersion A‑Scans, high‑resolution B‑scans and keratometry.
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensure proper probe positioning and scan labeling.
• Provide patient‑centric care, adhere to infection control and safety protocols, and travel to satellite eye centers as needed.
• Meet daily productivity goals and assist with organizational duties such as stocking exam rooms.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience performing ophthalmic ultrasound examinations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ultrasound echography instrumentation (A‑scan, B‑scan, IOL Master, keratometry).
• Experience using EMR/PACS documentation systems.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
