Operator I – Water Treatment Operations

About the role

The Operator I role is responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of water treatment systems at Veolia facilities across North America. You will work both in the field and in a control‑room environment, ensuring product quality and process reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all duties safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Conduct laboratory analytical testing for product quality assurance and routine tests.
• Operate, maintain, install and repair automatic and semi‑automatic equipment such as pumps, valves, gates, mixers, chemical feed systems, dust collectors and odor control units.
• Monitor control panels, flow meters, gauges and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), adjusting valves and gates as needed.
• Record operating conditions, observations and data in shift logs.
• Diagnose basic operational problems, take corrective actions, and report malfunctions to supervisors.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and field tests to adjust chemical dosages.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, holidays and on‑call duties.
