About the role
Vopak is looking for an Operator to join its terminal team, handling the safe and efficient loading and unloading of various products. This entry‑level position offers a supportive environment focused on safety, diversity, and professional growth.
Key responsibilities
- Load and unload railroad tank cars, trucks, ships, and barges according to operational orders.
- Open and close valves manually or via computer‑controlled systems.
- Perform tank gauging, temperature verification, and complete related paperwork.
- Ensure correct tank line‑up, verify equipment suitability, and follow safety procedures at all times.
- Read and interpret U.S. Coast Guard manuals, regulatory documents, and safety standards.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Ability to follow written instructions, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to use database systems.
- Basic mathematical skills, including fractions and conversions used in petrochemical operations.
