Operator – Chemical Manufacturing (Birmingham, AL)

About the role

Airswift is seeking an Operator to support a major chemical manufacturing client in Birmingham, AL. This is a 1‑year fixed‑term assignment with the possibility of extension, working on a variety of unit operations in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate aseptic technique and follow GLP/GMP batch records with minimal supervision.
• Prepare complex, multi‑step solutions accurately.
• Assemble and disassemble process equipment for extrusion, microsphere, liposome, or polymerization processes.
• Operate PLC‑controlled equipment, adjusting set‑points as directed.
• Use basic hand tools for equipment operation and maintenance.
• Execute in‑process environmental monitoring.
• Participate in Installation Qualification (IOQ) activities.
• Maintain strict safety practices, use appropriate PPE, and contribute to housekeeping.
• Identify opportunities for equipment calibration, maintenance, and procedural improvement.
