Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Night Shift Operations Supervisor will lead a manufacturing team at 3M, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and employee engagement while supporting global innovation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Meet facility and department objectives for safety, quality, service, productivity and employee engagement.
• Coordinate staffing, schedule expectations and overtime to meet customer demand.
• Assist production with quality or equipment issues to maintain product standards.
• Utilize resources to resolve process, maintenance, equipment, technical and personnel challenges.
• Lead training initiatives and ensure all employees receive required safety instruction.
• Approve and close production reports, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Administer administrative services such as audit standards, vacation planning and overtime tracking.
• Identify, document and resolve safety or ergonomic concerns; complete incident reports.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping standards and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Administer disciplinary actions when necessary.

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED (required); Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing or production experience in a private, public, government or military setting.
• Previous supervision of hourly employees is preferred.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work the night shift.
