About the role
Airbus US Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the A320 second‑shift line. The role provides technical leadership, oversees all manufacturing activities at the station, manages tools and jigs, and acts as deputy for the Business Unit Leader when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all employees assigned to the station, including selection, performance management and recognition.
- Provide direction and oversight to production activities, monitoring aircraft progress through the station.
- Ensure strict observance of OSHA rules and promote a safety‑first culture.
- Report progress to upper management, flag potential problems and drive corrective actions.
- Coordinate station activities with other FALs, management teams and support functions.
- Guarantee material availability to sustain workflow and develop manpower forecasts.
- Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, support AOS improvement activities and manage documentation hand‑over.
- Act as escalation point during second‑shift and off‑shift periods and participate in crisis‑management teams when required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years experience in aviation manufacturing (assembly, production methods) and 2‑5 years leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of quality and logistics rules in aviation manufacturing.
- Effective communication skills across all levels and ability to handle complex information.
- Experience working in a matrixed, dynamic environment.
Required skills
- Quality Management Systems.
- Production Pace Control (PPC) and SQCDP boards.
- Daily Quality Gate processes.
- OSHA regulations compliance.
- Tool and jig calibration and maintenance.
- Documentation handling (PIR‑book, Folio, NC, Intervention Cards).
