Operations Management Trainee

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Operations Management Trainee in Memphis, Tennessee. The role is part of an eight-week, hands-on training program that exposes trainees to Sales, Logistics and Customer Service at airport locations, teaching them how daily decisions affect fleet availability, revenue, customer satisfaction and employee performance. After training, the trainee moves into a supervisory role overseeing one or more daily operations or sales functions.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through core operational functions during the eight-week training program
• Learn how daily decisions impact fleet availability, revenue, customer satisfaction and employee performance
• After training, supervise one or more daily operations or sales functions
• Lead frontline teams, support fleet operations and monitor performance metrics
• Ensure service and safety standards are met
• Receive ongoing mentorship and development support, with advancement opportunities toward Operations Manager

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a bachelor's or associate's degree and at least two years of customer service experience
• Demonstrated leadership capability, able to work collaboratively and make independent decisions
• Valid driver's license
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends and holidays, and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather
• Regular on-site presence required; the position cannot be performed remotely
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, climbing and driving vehicles in all weather
• One year of high-quality customer service experience is a plus
