Online Visiting Professor – Interpersonal Communication (Part‑time)

About the role

Chamberlain University seeks a qualified professional to serve as an Online Visiting Professor for COMM‑277: Interpersonal Communication. This part‑time, course‑by‑course appointment is fully remote and focuses on delivering practitioner‑focused education to undergraduate and graduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate active learning through weekly video announcements and discussion board participation.
• Maintain two virtual office hours per week via the NAVIGATE platform.
• Post weekly announcements and at least two video updates for the class.
• Engage in discussion forums at least four days per week, including one weekend day, with a minimum of ten posts per discussion.
• Grade all discussion contributions by the following Tuesday.
• Develop and update course materials, assignments, and assessments in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in interpersonal communication concepts such as perception, self‑concept, persuasive and non‑verbal communication.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience teaching or training adult learners, preferably in an online environment.
• Professional background that aligns with the course content, such as industry or academic experience in communication studies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with online learning platforms (e.g., NAVIGATE, LMS tools).
• Ability to create and edit video content for instructional purposes.
• Effective written communication for discussion moderation and feedback.
