About the role
The SCCC Supportive Care Unit at the University of Miami is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN1) to provide comprehensive care in the Blood Hydration Unit. This position focuses on delivering high‑quality physical and psychosocial assessments, coordinating patient‑centered plans, and supporting families throughout treatment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform ongoing physical and psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide direct and indirect patient and family education in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust plans of care, and coordinate discharge teaching.
- Administer and monitor blood products and medications according to hospital policies.
- Document care accurately and communicate changes to patients, families, and the care team.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and promote evidence‑based practice.
Required profile
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current RN licensure in Florida.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient safety, education, and continuous quality improvement.
