On-Call Biometric Enrollment Customer Service Specialist

About the role

Amentum is hiring an On-Call Customer Service (Biometric Enrollment) Specialist for the USCIS Application Support Center office. You will welcome applicants pursuing legal immigration to the United States, guide them through their biometrics appointment (identity verification and biometric capture) and provide front-line customer service. It is a casual, on-call position, not full-time or part-time, paid $19.72 per hour (SCA position, overtime-eligible).

Key responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants, including capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs and signatures within program-wide processing times.
• Ensure only approved applicants and visitors enter the center, using crowd-control barriers and visually inspecting applicants and their belongings.
• Screen entrants for a valid appointment notice and identification, and ask health-related questions during pandemics or crises.
• Safeguard personal identifiable information, including applicant paperwork, IDs and electronic biometric data.
• Perform periodic interior and exterior facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Track processing times, reconcile biometrics captured, maintain a visitor control log and complete other administrative paperwork.
• Assist the Site Supervisor and immigration officers in contacting law enforcement or first responders when necessary.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; ability to speak and write English.
• US citizenship required to obtain and maintain facility credentials at this location.
• Ability to stand for the shift duration, hold applicants' hands to take fingerprints, and work in a fast-paced public environment.
• Availability to be on call five days a week, Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 4:15pm, for substitute coverage; hours are not guaranteed.
• Completion of the biometrics training provided by Amentum and certification within 60 days.
• Preferred: ability to speak a foreign language.
