OMS Dental Assistant – Levels I to III

About the role

The College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University Health Science Center is seeking motivated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) Dental Assistants for Levels I, II, and III. The role supports the Oral Surgery department in a high‑volume, on‑site clinical environment, providing direct assistance to surgeons and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Key responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during procedures, including dental implant placements.
• Prepare, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and supplies.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts in real time.
• Manage patient intake, positioning, and post‑operative instructions.
• Ensure compliance with infection‑control protocols and safety standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Level I: entry‑level experience or combination of education and experience.
• Level II: minimum 2 years as a registered dental assistant with exposure to implant procedures.
• Level III: minimum 4 years as a registered dental assistant with implant experience.
• Professional demeanor and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly compensation commensurate with experience ($17.78‑$21.51 per hour).
