OISS Workflow Developer

About the role

We are looking for an OISS Workflow Developer to design, build, test and deploy Open Information Stewardship Service (OISS) process templates. The role focuses on implementing Archive Information Unit (AIU), Archive Information Collection (AIC) and optional Dissemination Information Package (DIP) workflows using Python and native AWS services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop OISS process templates by copying and configuring a generic Python workflow module.
• Implement and customize AIU storage patterns, AIC transformation patterns and optional DIP steps such as cataloging or dissemination.
• Write subject‑matter‑specific logic and match statements that connect AIU, AIC and DIP steps.
• Design, configure and deploy AWS Lambda functions for user‑business logic, metadata extraction and workflow transformations.
• Work with AWS services including S3, EC2, IAM, Step Functions, CloudFormation and SAM to support large‑scale cloud deployments.
• Validate workflows against SOPs, resolve issues, and manage deployment identifiers.
• Execute end‑to‑end testing, debug failures using Step Functions traces and CloudWatch logs.
• Participate in stand‑ups, workflow reviews and provide weekly status reports.

Required profile

• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Solid understanding of AWS cloud services and serverless architectures.
• Experience or interest in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Ability to learn OISS architecture and follow established SOPs.
