About the role
The Offshore Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating wells and associated surface equipment on offshore fields. The role ensures safe and efficient production of oil, natural gas, and related by‑products while maintaining accurate records and responding to alarms 24/7.
Key responsibilities
- Gauge and record tank and gas meter readings; read automatic gauges to determine flow rates.
- Open/close valves, tank hatches, and operate pumps according to delivery schedules.
- Inspect equipment for safety issues, leaks, wear, and recommend or perform repairs.
- Collect oil and gas samples, perform quality and integrity tests, and log results.
- Complete daily production sheets, 8‑day gauge reports, and various monthly surveillance reports.
- Implement the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan as needed.
- Monitor alarms and respond to emergencies, including equipment shutdowns.
- Maintain logs of meter readings, pressure readings, and test results.
Required profile
- Minimum two (2) years of oilfield experience.
- Ability to work established schedules and be on call 24 hours per day.
- Capability to work with minimal supervision and follow safety procedures.
