Office Appliance Repair Technician

About the role

Amentum is hiring an office appliance repair technician. The position covers repairing office furniture and equipment such as staplers, file cabinets and cubicle setups, and locksmith services like making keys and repairing cabinet locks. It also includes loading and unloading trucks, moving pallets and boxes, driving a small truck or van to nearby sites, and occasionally delivering and picking up items at the Post Office.

Key responsibilities

• Examine date machines, time stamps, electric staplers and other office machines used in tax processing to find the cause of malfunctions.
• Make repairs to system furniture and customer property as directed by customer work orders.
• Determine maintenance needs and replace wheels of rolling stock.
• Maintain parts inventory and communicate parts needed to the manager for ordering.
• Maintain files of documents used and prepared.
• Maintain key inventory and key-making equipment, and repair locks as requested by work orders.
• Assemble customer equipment as required by work orders.
• Perform other duties assigned or requested.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of job-related experience, including basic computer operations.
• Ability to process routine reports.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance; position may require travel.
• Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds, and exposure to moving mechanical parts, heat, humidity and electrical shock risks.
