Occupational Therapy Assistant Adjunct Instructor – Pediatrics & Treatment Methods

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a part‑time Occupational Therapy Assistant Adjunct Instructor to teach the OCTA 2040 Pediatrics & Treatment Methods course on the Canton campus. The position supports the Program Director in delivering hands‑on laboratory instruction one day per week.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct students in a team‑based laboratory environment following program policies.
• Evaluate student psychomotor skills against program criteria.
• Explain critical pediatric knowledge and skills.
• Operate OTA skills laboratory equipment effectively.
• Maintain professional competence, certification, or licensure.
• Respond to communications promptly and complete required college duties.
• Plan and implement course criteria, ensuring ACOTE B standards are met.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Program Director or College Administration.

Required profile

• Licensed Georgia Occupational Therapy Practitioner.
• Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of field experience, preferably with older adults.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
• Previous teaching experience in the field is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to operate OTA laboratory equipment.
• Knowledge of ACOTE B accreditation standards.
