Occupational Therapist

About the role

UnitedHealth Group's Amedisys unit, which provides home health, hospice and community-based services, is hiring an Occupational Therapist in Roseburg, Oregon. The therapist evaluates and treats patients in their homes to promote independence, safety and improved quality of life, helping people regain or maintain the skills needed for daily living after illness, injury or functional decline. The role works with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members to build individualized treatment plans in line with physician orders and agency policy.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services under a physician-approved plan of care
• Ensure the plan of care addresses all problems identified in the assessment, or document the rationale if some are not addressed
• Be accountable for the safety and effectiveness of service delivery
• Complete documentation timely and accurately
• Supervise the home health aide when the registered nurse is not active in the case
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an occupational therapy program accredited by ACOTE (AOTA) or a successor organization
• Current license to practice occupational therapy in the state of assignment
• Current CPR certification
• Eligible for or has passed the NBCOT entry-level certification exam
• At least 1 year of related occupational therapy experience; if less, approval from regional clinical leaders and mentoring or a residency program are required

• Salary of $82,640 to $123,960 per year for full-time employment, depending on factors such as local market, education and experience
