Occupational Therapist II – Full-time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a full‑time Occupational Therapist II to join its team in Doral, Florida. The OT will design and deliver individualized therapy programs that help patients regain or maintain daily living skills, while also providing education on adaptive equipment and techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, synthesize data, and establish diagnoses.
• Develop and update personalized care plans with measurable goals in collaboration with patients and families.
• Select and administer appropriate assessment and treatment techniques, including age‑specific competency evaluations.
• Follow and adjust intervention protocols as needed, and discharge patients when goals are met.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to readiness and emotional status.
• Ensure patients understand how to access further services.
• Accurately collect and record departmental data within required time frames.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and maintain professional standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant clinical experience.
• Current, valid State of Florida Occupational Therapist license.
• Commitment to teamwork, learning agility, and clear communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Experience using clinical documentation or electronic health record systems.
