Nursing Manager – UHealth Transfer Center

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Nursing Manager to lead the UHealth Transfer Center. This role ensures smooth patient flow, optimal staffing, and high‑quality clinical operations across all units.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to allocate rooms and staff efficiently on each unit.
• Act as the administrative authority for patient flow and the Transfer Center.
• Notify administrators and relevant staff of urgent concerns during shifts.
• Complete employee evaluations and recommend policy revisions.
• Assist with annual budget preparation by identifying supply and equipment needs.
• Review staffing schedules to ensure coverage.
• Maintain familiarity with clinical and business systems supporting operations.
• Establish and assess internal controls and ensure compliance with university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s preferred).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing or management experience.
• Strong ability to plan, delegate, supervise, and make critical decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Proven leadership, motivation, and staff development capabilities.

Required skills

• RN licensing (Registered Nurse).
