Nurse Tech - West Florida Region

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Nurse Tech for its West Florida Region in Tampa, Florida. The position works day shifts on a PRN basis and involves assisting with patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, following infection control and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly, perform hand hygiene and enforce safety regulations.
• Assist in patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Document and report procedures accurately according to department policy.
• Help obtain nursing history and evaluate age-appropriate behavior, motor skills and physiological norms, reporting abnormalities to the RN.
• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, adapting care to age, mobility, acuity and culture, and respond appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Take part in practice improvements, quality standards and initiatives, and upgrade skills.
• Record blood pressures, input and output, blood glucose results and dietary trays.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed the first semester of Nursing Fundamentals, or has completed an accredited nursing program within one year and has not yet obtained an RN or LPN license.
• Ability to float between assignments and adapt to different healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance with safety and infection control policies.
• 1+ years of nursing assistant experience preferred.

Required skills

• Understanding of age-specific care needs for geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric patients.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Pay range: $15.46 - $24.73. Positions may be subject to Florida Level 2 background screening.
