Nurse Practitioner – PRN, Part‑Time

About the role

Join Thrive Now Recovery Center in Iowa City as a part‑time/PRN Nurse Practitioner. You will provide essential clinical care to individuals battling substance use disorders and co‑occurring medical or psychiatric conditions, working under the supervision of a physician within a trauma‑informed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessments to guide patient stabilization and treatment planning.
• Diagnose and treat patients according to established protocols and supervisory guidance.
• Prescribe medications, including Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT), in compliance with collaborative practice agreements and state law.
• Manage withdrawal monitoring and evaluate patient response to interventions.
• Collaborate with nursing, clinical, medical, and recovery support teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to medical emergencies using approved protocols and communicate promptly with the supervising physician.
• Document assessments, progress notes, medication changes, and clinical findings accurately and timely.
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA, state licensure rules, and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Iowa.
• Experience in treating substance use disorders and co‑occurring conditions.
• Familiarity with medication‑assisted treatment and withdrawal management.
• Ability to work under physician supervision and within a multidisciplinary team.

• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
