Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Onsite in Misawa, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive primary care to service members and their families at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The role serves as the Primary Care Manager, ensuring continuity of care, preventive health, and medical readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary care and patient management for an assigned panel, following DHA-PI 6025.11 guidelines.
• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, histories, and physical examinations for patients of all ages.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications in accordance with the Air Force Formulary.
• Perform minor surgical procedures such as wound care, skin biopsies, and joint injections.
• Provide women’s health services, routine gynecological exams, and family planning counseling where permitted.
• Offer pediatric care, including well‑child exams, immunizations, and treatment of common childhood illnesses.
• Address behavioral health concerns and coordinate referrals to mental‑health professionals.
• Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare providers.
• Monitor and manage Individual Medical Readiness metrics, including immunizations, preventive health assessments, mental‑health assessments, and dental readiness.
• Conduct health assessments and pre‑deployment screenings to support mission readiness.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Experience providing comprehensive primary care to diverse patient populations.
• Knowledge of military‑specific healthcare policies, procedures, and readiness requirements.
• Ability to perform minor surgical procedures and manage prescription therapy.
• Willingness to work onsite in Misawa, Japan, and comply with security and visa requirements (no H‑1B sponsorship).
