Nurse Navigator – Full-Time Oncology Care

About the role

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Radiology Department at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Nurse Navigator 2. In this role you will educate patients and families about cancer diagnoses, coordinate timely appointments, and support patients throughout their care journey.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule new patient appointments with appropriate providers and ensure timely initial visits.
• Review external medical records to determine appropriate scheduling.
• Identify barriers to care and refer patients to support services and community resources.
• Educate patients on treatment plans based on their diagnosis.
• Provide ongoing counseling and health‑practice guidance throughout the care continuum.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop optimal treatment strategies.
• Perform holistic evaluations of specialty populations using proven techniques.
• Mentor and precept students, new graduates, and visiting professionals.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and professional organization involvement.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
