Nurse Extern – Emergency (Part‑Time, Day Shift)

About the role

The Palestine Regional Medical Center is seeking a motivated nursing student to join our Emergency Department as a Nurse Extern on a part‑time, day‑shift schedule. This position provides hands‑on clinical experience in a 150‑bed acute‑care hospital recognized for safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the RN with patient care tasks such as vital signs, bathing, feeding, ambulation, and hygiene.
• Document observations and care activities in accordance with hospital policy.
• Communicate patient needs and observations to the RN and care team.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
• Support patients and families emotionally while respecting professional boundaries.
• Participate in unit huddles, education sessions, and team meetings.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an accredited LPN, ADN, or BSN program and in good standing.
• Completion of a fundamentals of nursing course with clinical practicum.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Ability to function in a fast‑paced, emotionally demanding environment.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic computer and documentation proficiency.
