Nurse Educator (CNOR Certified) – Full‑time OR Position

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking an experienced, full‑time Nurse Educator to provide clinical education and support within the Operating Room. The role requires CNOR certification and focuses on advancing evidence‑based nursing practice for specialized patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver education and resources that enhance patient care and staff competency.
• Assist nursing staff with problem resolution, time management, and critical‑thinking development.
• Collaborate with physicians, patient‑care teams, and unit management to design and implement educational curricula.
• Conduct clinical skills activities, monitor data trends, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Support development of patient‑care plans using evidence‑based research and national guidelines.
• Serve as a clinical resource for unit management to maintain high‑quality patient care.
• Provide in‑service training on new equipment, supplies, and instruments.
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing education experience.
• Valid Florida RN license.
• CNOR certification (required).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
