Nuclear Medicine Technologist I – Full‑time

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Nuclear Medicine Technologist I to join the Imaging Services team at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. You will perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures while ensuring the highest image quality and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and verify orders for nuclear medicine scans, confirming appropriateness and addressing discrepancies.
• Administer diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals according to approved protocols.
• Operate nuclear medicine scanners and related equipment while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Verify patient identity, obtain consents, and provide patient education.
• Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including IV placement and contrast injection when required.
• Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout all procedures.
• Document procedures, quality control checks, and radiation protection measures.

Required profile

• Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in a clinical imaging environment.
• Ability to integrate diagnostic, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to adapt examinations.
