About the role
The University of Miami Health System in Doral is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist 1 to perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will operate advanced imaging equipment, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure high‑quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.
Key responsibilities
- Review and verify orders for nuclear medicine scans, confirming appropriateness and patient details.
- Perform scans using nuclear medicine scanners in accordance with radiation safety protocols.
- Administer diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals and related medications per approved protocols.
- Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including IV placement and contrast injection when required.
- Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout all procedures.
- Evaluate image quality, collate processed images, and ensure proper documentation.
Required profile
- Ability to interpret orders, verify patient identity, and obtain necessary consents.
- Strong judgment and initiative in handling complex procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff.
