About the role

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Nuclear Medicine Technologist 3 for its Deerfield Beach campus. The technologist will perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures while ensuring optimal image quality and minimal radiation exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow for inter‑departmental nuclear medicine procedures.
• Supervise and perform diagnostic imaging studies under radiologist direction.
• Assist in education and training of physicians and staff; develop new imaging protocols.
• Participate in research initiatives and protocol development.
• Monitor daily charging of procedures and supplies for accuracy.
• Demonstrate equipment during site visits and provide in‑service training.
• Review and verify orders, obtain consents, and ensure correct patient identification.
• Operate nuclear medicine scanners and related equipment following radiation safety procedures.

Required profile

• Experience performing complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures.
• Ability to supervise day‑to‑day operations in the absence of a chief technologist or radiology manager.
• Strong attention to detail for order verification, patient identification, and radiation safety.
• Capability to work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and research staff.
