Music Teacher (Choral & General)

About the role

The school is seeking a certified Music Teacher to deliver choral and general music instruction across multiple Maryland public schools. Working under the principal, the teacher will design and implement learning experiences that support the intellectual, social and emotional development of every student.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess choral and general music curriculum aligned with MCPS standards.
• Supervise students in various school settings and monitor student outcomes.
• Develop, select, and modify instructional materials to meet diverse learner needs.
• Maintain accurate records, follow required procedures, and ensure proper use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, staff and the community.

Required profile

• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, policies and effective instructional practices.
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process and ability to incorporate multicultural perspectives.
• Ability to integrate technology into music instruction.
• Strong collaboration skills with administrators, colleagues, students, parents and community members.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
