Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join 3M's Nevada manufacturing site as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician. You will work alongside innovative engineers and technicians to keep critical equipment running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, test, repair, and adjust AC and DC motors and drive systems ranging from fractional to hundreds of horsepower.
• Maintain pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems, including control loops and PID loops (4‑20 mA).
• Work with industrial controllers, both analog and digital PLCs.
• Install and modify control and power wiring up to 480 V AC, ensuring compliance with NEC, OSHA, Intrinsically Safe, and explosion‑proof standards.
• Read, interpret, and modify AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication according to P.M. route sheets.
• Apply metal‑joining techniques (arc welding, acetylene welding, brazing, soldering) and conduct light metal fabrication, wood construction, and painting.
• Operate shop equipment including hand tools, electric/air‑powered tools, carpentry tools, lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and saws.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in a private, public, government, or military environment, or a technical degree in a related engineering field (e.g., Mechatronics, Industrial Electrical).
