Mozzarella String Cheese Packaging Assembler - 3rd Shift

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Mozzarella String Cheese Packaging Assembler for its 3rd shift in Lena. The shift runs 8 pm to 6 am and/or 8:30 pm to 6:30 am. Pay starts at $22.62 per hour, with a $1 shift premium for hours worked between 6 pm and 6 am, and benefits available after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Perform any and all packaging duties as assigned by the Packaging Supervisor.
• Rotate between lines and positions while practicing good ergonomics.
• Work cooperatively in a team setting toward shared team goals.
• Read and understand production and packaging schedules and packaging verification reports.
• Assist in setting up for production and changeovers.
• Visually inspect product for quality defects.
• Follow all safety rules, work rules and procedures, and know clean-up and chemical handling procedures.
• Operate and maintain the foamer.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent education, experience or training.
• Excellent work ethic, consistent attendance, and ability to work overtime and on holidays.
• Able to handle medium to heavy work, including lifting and frequent stooping, squatting and reaching, with 25-30 lb tubs of cheese or finished product.

Required skills

• Ability to work comfortably with basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Ability to read and interpret production and packaging schedules and verification reports.
