Motorhand – Mechanical Maintenance for Drilling Rig

About the role

The Motorhand is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of all mechanical equipment on a drilling rig. Working under the direction of the Rig Manager, the role focuses on preventive maintenance and timely repairs to minimise downtime and keep the rig running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on generators, main engines, air compressors and related systems.
• Perform corrective repairs on portable water systems, drill water manifolds, pumps and cold‑start air compressors.
• Monitor equipment condition and report any abnormalities to the Rig Manager.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical failures and implement corrective actions promptly.

Required profile

• Experience working with heavy‑duty mechanical equipment in an industrial or drilling environment.
• Ability to work independently under pressure while adhering to safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to equipment upkeep.
