Mobile Engineer (iOS & Android)

About the role

Allara is seeking a Mobile Engineer to design, build, and ship native iOS and Android experiences that connect over 60,000 patients with longitudinal women’s health care. You will own significant pieces of the mobile platform, working across a shared architecture that spans both codebases.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch features for iOS and Android apps, contributing to a shared mobile architecture.
• Leverage deep expertise in your primary platform while expanding competence in the other platform.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to translate patient‑care goals into performant mobile experiences.
• Drive architectural decisions for shared logic, state management, networking, and offline behavior.
• Champion code quality through reviews, testing, performance profiling, and pragmatic technical choices.
• Identify and integrate AI/LLM‑powered features to improve patient engagement.
• Own feature lifecycle from scoping to launch, instrumentation, and data‑driven iteration.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional mobile engineering experience delivering production features in a native iOS or Android app.
• Deep expertise in Swift/SwiftUI (iOS) **or** Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android) with strong understanding of platform conventions.
• Willingness to contribute meaningfully to the non‑primary platform over time.
• Proficiency consuming RESTful APIs and collaborating with backend engineers on contract design, error handling, and authentication.
