Mobile Application Developer

About the role

The Homeland Sector within Leidos is seeking a Mobile Application Developer to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program that develops, modernizes, enhances, operates and maintains services for DHS/CBP mission-critical systems. The position is hands-on and collaborative, working on highly available, scalable, real-time systems. It requires the candidate to be in Ashburn, VA, twice a week.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, build, deliver and enhance real-time systems, choosing designs that fit customer business objectives, timelines and resource constraints.
• Participate in and/or direct major project deliverables across the software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.
• Support application issues and apply preventative measures, combining communications skills with hands-on troubleshooting.

Required profile

• BS/BA degree and 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master's with 5 years, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5 years of mobile application development experience, with both Android and iOS.
• Experience in front-end mobile and back-end RESTful API development, and in building Java and Node.js applications.
• Experience with both NoSQL and SQL databases, and strong application testing discipline.
• Experience with Google's Flutter engine and Dart, and similar Android/iOS frameworks.
• U.S. citizen, able to maintain and obtain a CBP background investigation before starting; active CBP BI and CBPAWS experience preferred.

• Software design patterns, issue tracking tools such as Jira, Agile practices and DevOps frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay range: $87,100 - $157,450.
