Mission Critical Construction Manager (MEP)

About the role

Amentum's Telecommunications Group, which designs, builds and maintains datacenter facilities, is looking for a Mission Critical Construction Manager (Foreman/Superintendent). The role manages internal and subcontractor crews on datacenter construction and upgrade projects, from minor BMS/EPMS upgrades to large multidisciplinary scopes. It is a full-time, onsite position starting at 6 AM, based in various datacenters.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support internal and subcontractor teams on mission-critical renovation and upgrade projects covering BMS, EPMS, mechanical, electrical and structural scopes.
• Maintain a safe working environment and champion the safety culture.
• Support project management teams with planning, schedule management, coordination and closeout, and give technical direction to trade partners and field crews.
• Provide construction and schedule updates, coordinate client submittals, site logistics plans and as-built documentation, and assist with RFIs and their logs.
• Attend site visits with clients and subcontractors, coordinate site access and badging, and help with RFQs and bid submittals.
• Promote positive customer relationships, identify process bottlenecks and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• 3-5 years or more of mission-critical and datacenter construction field management experience; experience running crews in live datacenters is required.
• Thorough knowledge of construction, safety and quality best practices, and understanding of electrical, mechanical, structural and architectural trades.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, P&ID/BMS control diagrams and electrical drawings, and to follow and coach on LOTO procedures.
• OSHA 30 certificate preferred; must be able to work for any US employer without visa sponsorship and pass a background check.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and to perform intermittent standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds and work near construction equipment.

Required skills

• BMS and EPMS construction, integration and commissioning experience.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
